We store the folder structures you generate, project metadata, and usage patterns to improve our AI models and provide you with a better experience.
We collect anonymous usage data to understand how our service is used and to identify areas for improvement. This includes page views, feature usage, and performance metrics.
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve our folder organization services, including AI-powered generation and project management features.
We may send you service-related emails, updates about new features, and important account information. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
We don't train AI models, and we don't use your projects, files or folder data to train any. AI features are provided by our AI provider, as described below.
The FolderCopilot desktop app organizes, visualizes and tracks the status of your folders on your own computer. Plans, change history, undo backups, automations and project status settings are stored on your device, not on our servers.
When you use the Workspace Assistant, create or run an automation that picks files by meaning, or ask for AI stage suggestions, the desktop app sends your request together with the names and layout of files and folders, and short text excerpts from files, only from the folders you have added to the app. This is sent through FolderCopilot's servers to our AI provider to generate a response. We do not store this content for these requests.
AI responses are generated by OpenAI, which processes the content under its API terms and privacy policy (openai.com/policies). If you do not use the AI features, no file information leaves your computer.
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption. Your passwords are hashed using industry-standard bcrypt.
We implement strict access controls and regularly audit who has access to user data. Only authorized personnel can access user information for support purposes.
Our infrastructure is hosted on secure cloud platforms with regular security updates, monitoring, and backup procedures.
We use trusted third-party services for analytics, email delivery, payment processing, and AI processing (OpenAI). These services are bound by strict data protection agreements.
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or others.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to the same privacy protections.
You can access, download, or export your data at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team.
You can update your account information or request deletion of your account and associated data. Some information may be retained for legal or security purposes.
