Video Production Folder Structure Template
A per-project video structure covering footage, audio, graphics, project files, and exports. View the exact directory layout below and launch it into your workspace using FolderCopilot context engine.
Recommended Structure
Why this structure works
Video editing software stores links to media rather than the media itself, so moving or renaming a file after import breaks the timeline. A fixed folder structure created before ingest prevents that entirely. Separating footage by camera and keeping audio, graphics, and project files apart also means an editor can be handed the folder and start work without asking where anything is.
Small Project Adaptation
For a single-camera shoot, collapse `02-Footage` into one folder and merge graphics into project files. Keep exports split into drafts and final regardless of project size.
Large Scale Scaling
For a series or multi-episode production, nest this structure per episode and lift shared music, graphics, and brand assets into a project-level `_Shared` folder so they are not duplicated across episodes.
